Washington real estate listing shows ‘knight’ enjoying conveniences of home, using lavatory in full armor

(NEXSTAR) – This is a house fit for a king – or at least a very domestic knight.

A DC realtor is having a little fun with photos of his latest Spokane-area property, most of which show a fully armored “knight” enjoying the amenities of home.

The house itself, located in Chattaroy, was already built to look like a castle, with a massive outer “fortress wall” topped with battlements. So it only made sense that it would be marketed appropriately, says agent Jonas Elber.

“I’ve enjoyed marketing unique properties in the past,” said Elber, who explained that he enlisted a real gunsmith, along with a few of his friends, to help bring his vision to fruition. “They all jumped at the idea and it was great to work with them.”

Their efforts resulted in not only a series of silly list photos, but also a short film that depicts the “knight” circling the $600,000 property. It features playing hockey in the yard, cutting fruit with his sword, and yes, using one of the throne rooms in the house.

Elber says the idea generated a lot of exposure, but more importantly, it caught the attention of several potential buyers.

“When this home was listed in 2009, it sat on the market for over 400 days and sat like a sore thumb,” Elber said. This time around, however, he says more than a dozen qualified buyers visited the home, which came on the market just days ago. This weekend, he’s also gearing up to run through a few deals.

“We are happy to see so many enthusiastic buyers about the castle and its potential as a residence, potential wedding venue or Airbnb,” he said.
